Accelerated Self Development and being your true self

FEAR: People run from it, but rather than run from it, before turning, a question needs to be asked;

Why am I running from this and what is it I'm really running from?

Many times it's what's on the other side of it that scares us. This cannot be a train of thought. It needs to change as what's on the other side is what we need to be aiming for.

I have recently been featured on a podcast in which I believe will provide you with real value. Who would this podcast be for?

  • You're someone that feels a little stuck and wants to get out of the rut
  • You want to make positive change in your life but can't seem to start

When Adam Phillips, the Founder of Life Grip felt his health slipping away while working a hectic FIFO lifestyle which involved dismal nutrition, he knew something had to change. He gave up his hard-partying ways and explored many areas of health and wellbeing and ultimately, turned his life – and his health – around. Adam learned that by putting healthy foods into his body, he was able to create a new vision for his future and that vision includes the courses, products and services he offers today.

“I realised there is one thing I can never do and that’s bypass clean whole food nutrition,” he says. “I researched and spent thousands of dollars on education and consults. I found that this type of adaptive nutrition seemed to only be available to athletes, CEOs and the wealthy. I decided to bring this to the everyday person so that they can experience a better quality of life.”

Mission Statement Life Grip was built on: “Improve Mental Health and Prevent Disease, through Nutrition, Meditation & Active Lifestyles”

Coming from a life that was in a rapid downward spiral, partying with alcohol and eventually adding drugs into the mix and then grinding through my own mental battles which that lifestyle put me in.

I managed to come out the other side and made a commitment to create the cleanest supplements on the market and share my story of growth and transition to all that can relate to my story.

The turning point for me was the last time I was sick, I was in such a bad way that I lost 12kg’s in 48hrs, my fingernails went black and I then knew I never want to go back there again. I was sick from a mix of a work hard, party hard lifestyle and poor nutrition on site. I turned my health around fiorst beginning with a clean whole food diet.

The first thing I noticed was the energy and mental clarity that came from eating a clean whole food diet. By default, this experience made me look at other areas of my life and how I could enhance them. From that day something clicked, it's that it all starts with Nutrition. You can have goals, targets, and dreams, but if you’re body and mind isn’t being nourished correctly and your being fed with stimulates like I was and with a poor lifestyle, then any attempt at any dream or target would be futile. Plus that dream more than likely isn’t the real you anyways, because your dream came from a stimulated state of being, not the real you.

You can’t have a positive mindset, without being fed the right foods. You can’t create a dream true to yourself, nor live a life true to yourself, without consuming a clean whole food diet and a clean lifestyle.

I think, react and make different decisions when I’m stimulated compared to when I’m feeling clean and healthy. I have a completely different perception of the world when I’m feeling this way. I see the world through different eyes, and my perception of everything is different than my lifestyle I was living before.

“I realised there is one thing I can never do and that’s bypass clean whole food Nutrition”

I began to become very aware of how I was feeling after my meals from one meal to the next and noticed something profound that would change my life forever.

It was now that I researched hundreds of articles and books and spent thousands of dollars on education and consults in order to find out how to fine tune my Food Types, Food Amounts and Meal Timing. This sort of adaptive nutrition was before only applied to high class athletes, CEO’s and the wealthy..

This should be available to everyone, as it was clear to me the impact that it has on the quality of your life, performance, mental health and perception of the world.

So I decided to bring what high class athletes, CEO’s and the wealthy receive, to the everyday person willing to increase their quality of life.

"The biggest positive impact clean nutrition has is on your mental health, focus and the quality of your emotions you experience on a daily basis. Balance your blood sugar levels and make the most of every experience.”

The mission statement was created and then Life Grip was built around this:

"Improve Mental Health and Prevent Disease, through Nutrition, Meditation & Active Lifestyles"

Just like any discipline, sport or path we choose to take, there are lessons, challenges, light bulb moments that happen which we know affects positively or negatively with the outside world.

It's knowing what these moments are and this happens by becoming more aware of ourselves throughout our daily life.

"An accelerated form of self-development"

"Create space to move/progress further into the pose"

Creating space with the breath in a Yoga pose so you can move/progress into it further is something I took off the mat into the outside world immediately. All too often we can find ourselves feeling like we're stuck in a rut and worse at the end of the rut with nowhere to go. Sometimes to get out of that feeling, space needs to be created to move into.

Breathe, create space and move into that space, repeat.

Yoga can provide so much more than stretching and mobility. Allowing yourself the time and space to go along to a class and see what happens to you. The beauty of Yoga is you'll get what you need out of it. By putting yourself into positions you never thought were possible, very quickly you learn more and more about yourself.

The first thing I noticed was a sense of calm and an increased sense of focus. I was just generally happier and more at ease in everyday life. In the Yoga Asana's there is a strong focus on alignment, ensuring you're in the right position to get maximum benefits and eliminate the risk of injury. How often in our life off the mat do we prepare things correctly, including the alignment of our true selves to an ultimate goal to gain maximum benefit and reduce or eliminate risk?

"I increased my Lung Capacity. This benefit just speaks for itself" - Adam, Life Grip

I remember I damaged my knee skydiving and couldn't run for 12 weeks. I began my Yoga Teacher Training Course towards the end of that 12 weeks and it helped my knee for sure. But what happened next was just amazing and still blows me away to this day.

There is a hill near my home I would take my dog up and I'd try and run the whole hill to the top and could never get there. I could only get half way up. Once I finished my Yoga Teacher Training, I gave the hill a shot first go, now keep in mind I had not run for 12 weeks or more now. I managed to get 3/4 of the way to the top and 2 days later I tried again and made it all the way to the top.

What had happened was not that I was stronger or anything Like that, but from the Yoga Teacher Training I expanded my thoracic region (muscles around my rib cage which expand and contract with each breath) and I was now able to take in more oxygen. It wasn't that my lungs were bigger, but now my lungs were able to expand more as I'd created space for them to move into.

If breathing muscles are too tight, it can restrict your lung capacity which reduces that life-giving oxygen that needs to be flowing through your body.

Here are the benefits I receive from Yoga. You may experience a list completely different as Yoga will only provide what you need;

  • Increased Lung Capacity
  • Reduced Stress
  • A sense of calmness through my daily life
  • An accelerated form of self-development
  • Increased focus
  • Higher quality of emotions
  • Gives me joy
  • Increased Strength
  • Increased Range of Motion
  • Better Stability and Stronger joints
  • Better Balance and Coordination
  • Better Mental Health
  • A tool I can use anywhere, anytime...priceless

Go find something in your life which is priceless, you can do anywhere, anytime, fills you with joy and optimises and benefits other areas of your life.

Hey, it may not be Yoga, so use this as a guide to look into your chosen discipline and seek out the ways it teaches you in ways that Yoga teaches me. If you look, it will be there.

Eat Clean, Think Clean and Live Clean, your body changes, your mind thinks better, you handle stress and challenges better and are more driven and motivated as your energy levels have increased along with your mental clarity. You now begin to look at other areas of your life and how you can enhance them.

Share your experience with changes in your diet, I would love to hear!

Don’t Forget to share!

Eat, Think & Live Clean.

Kind Regards
